In this day-trip from Naples, explore the remains of the area's Ancient Roman past with a tour of the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Both towns were destroyed by a volcanic eruption almost 2,000 years ago.
First, head down to Herculaneum. The buildings have been so well preserved that you can walk down the streets pretty much exactly as the Romans would have done over 2000 years ago.
There are still original timbers showing in the buildings, and clay pots stored as they would have been at the time of the eruption. It was believed that many of the inhabitants of the town managed to successfully flee, unlike those not so fortunate in Pompeii.
The tour will then take you to the House of the Argus, once a grand place judging by its courtyard. Across the street lays a lavish hotel and the remarkably well-preserved public baths with beautiful mosaics decorating the building.
During this tour you will get a chance to see one of the best-preserved examples of a Roman residential town in the world, brought to life by the years of study and knowledge of the experienced guides. Following the guided tour, guests can enjoy free time to have a coffee before departing to Pompeii.
During your time in Pompeii you will get a generous 2 hours to explore this intriguing town and compare it with Herculaneum. Accompanied by your knowledgeable guide, you will explore the main features of the ancient city such as the baths, bakeries, and the great arena. You can even explore the brothel! Discover the secrets that lay within these fascinating towns.
