Basilica dello Spirito Santo

History

The “Basilica dello Spirito Santo” was built in 1562. The exterior of the church is characterized by a sober and imposing Baroque facade, from whose building body rises one of the largest and most elegant domes of the city. To the left of the facade is the palace of the Conservatory of the Holy Spirit, where remain as original architectural elements the monumental baroque portal, the inner courtyard and the oratory of the Confraternity of the Greens on the right, where at the altar is a canvas of the Nativity of Giacomo Farelli. To the right of the church remains survivor instead on the side alley that winds to the building, the oratory of the Brotherhood of the Whites, where the high altar is a Majesty of All Saints by Girolamo Imparato.
